In a surprising change from the norm, Adidas made this shirt to fit more along the lines of a conventional size small, as opposed to their more regular baggier ‘ClimaCool’ shirts.
Taking inspiration from the 1989-90 season, Adidas were determined to leave fans with a shirt to remember as they produced the last shirt of their last cycle as Liverpool’s kit supplier. Embossed with the shinier, and darker red accents; it’s truly a shame Liverpool didn’t win more or deliver those famed European nights at Anfield in this shirt. In another piece of trivia, this was also the first shirt to be emblazoned with the Standard Chartered sponsorship, and the last to bear the old Liverpool crest.
