DESCRIPTION:
In Puma’s second offering as the kit supplier for ‘the Azzurri’, the German designers went for subtlety and simplicity, as the royal blue was the weapon of choice for the 2004 European Championships. The nuances on this fine shirt include: the shining of the sleeves, and main body under light; while both, the collar, and sleeves, have an almost ‘double’ effect, as the upper panel is layered over the underarm, creating a stylish, yet subsistent design, complimented lastly, by the gold Puma logo. While the tournament was memorable for the national side for the wrong reasons, this shirt does have a special place in Italian football history, as it was the shirt worn on Roberto Baggio's last cap for national team, as he was gifted a final cap in 2004 ahead of his retirement from the game.
The notable players to wear that season(s) were:
Roberto Baggio, Christian Vieri, Luca Toni, Alberto Gilardino, Alessandro Del Piero, Francesco Totti, Antonio Cassano, Stefano Fiore, Daniele de Rossi, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta, Massimo Oddo, Gianluca Zambrotta, Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluigi Buffon, Francesco Toldo
