After the retro throwback offering Adidas produced for Benfica ahead of the 2004-05 season; they went with the current template for the 2005-06 season; reintroducing the Adidas 3-stripes, as well heavy white accents down the side panels of the shirt, and underarms. This shirt will remain a favourite of fans of Benfica as it was the season where they ended a 5 year wait to Portuguese Super Cup, and defeated both: Manchester United and Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League en route to reaching the quarter final of the competition.
