2012-13 Manchester United Home Shirt Size Small - Scholes #22
Team: Manchester United
Era: 2012-13 (Used for the 2012-13 Barclays Premier League season)
Name/Number: Scholes #22
While the shirt itself is in excellent condition, looking almost brand new; the ill positioning of the name and number suggests that somebody may have brought the decal separately and tried to iron it on themselves. Moreover, the absence of the Premier League badges on the arms would lend further credence to this notion. If this can be overlooked, then you are in for a real bargain!
Pit to Pit Measurement: 19 inches
Shirt Length: 29 inches
Made in the Nike ‘Dri-Fit’ mould of the 2012-13 season, this shirt presents a very comfortable and relaxed size small fit, as opposed to the some of the tighter fitted shirts that Nike produced that season.
The shirt which would be used in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season as the Manchester United manager, would be ironic, given the tartan pattern that Nike emblazoned the shirt with. After dramatically losing the Premier League title to Manchester City in the previous season, Manchester United made no mistake in reclaiming the Premier League title in 2012-13, the title which made them the most successful side in the country, as they were crowned national champions for a 20th time, overtaking Liverpool’s record of 19.
The notable players that season were:
Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, Robin van Persie, Danny Welbeck, Nani, Antonio Valencia, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, Anderson, Shinji Kagawa, Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Phil Jones, David De Gea
