DESCRIPTION:
After some impressive results, including a 2-2 draw with Germany ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, the Japanese were drawn with Brazil, Croatia and Australia in Group F. Despite superstars: Hidetoshi Nakata and Shunsuke Nakamura at Zico’s disposal, a late collapse from a winning position against Australia set the tone for a disastrous tournament that concluded with a group stage exit. Revenge would come against Australia in the 2007 Asian Cup quarter final, however they would fall to Saudi Arabia in the semi final stage, This shirt was another classic in the Adidas World Cup 2006/06-07 season pantheon. Using navy again, the shirt was accompanied with grey and light blue slashes to create fine artistic jersey for the ‘Blue Samurai’.
