After coming up short in both the league and Greek Cup; Olympiacos installed Dusan Bajevic for his second stint at the helm of ‘Thrylos’. The former Yugoslavia international’s reign would only last the one season, but it was good enough to deliver a league and cup double, as the ‘Red and Whites’ re-established themselves as the staple club of Greek football! On the European front, the club were desperately unlucky not to reach the round of 16 in the Champions League, where a match-day 6 defeat away to Liverpool saw the eventual winners of the competition usurp their 2nd place position, despite both sides racking up 10 points each. The Siemens Mobile sponsorship has not been applied externally, moreover, the sponsorship is embossed into the fabric of the shirt. While the 2003-04 strip featured a lot more crimson red, this shirt brings back a conventional polo collar, while evenly splitting the classic red and white stripes that are synonymous with Olympiacos.
The notable players that season were:
Georgios Georgiadis, Giovanni, Ioannis Okkas, Nery Castillo, Rivaldo, Pedrag Dordevic, Milos Maric, Ieroklis Stoltidis, Christos Patsatziglou, Grigorios Georgatos, Stelios Venetidis, Gabriel Schurrer, Pantelis Kafes, Antonios Nikopolidis
