Made in the Adidas ‘ClimaCool’ mould introduced ahead of the 2006-07 season; although this is a size 32-34 shirt, this shirt would likely fit someone who wears an XS adult shirt.
It was the start of a new era for Newcastle United as the legendary Alan Shearer retired from the football, having spent 10 seasons with the club, and the new era began with the club winning the 2006 UEFA Inter-Toto Cup! Summer arrivals: Damien Duff, Obafemi Martins, Giuseppe Rossi and Antoine Sibierski gave the fans reason for optimism ahead of the new season; however, it was a typically inconsistent season for ‘the Magpies’ as they finished 13th in the league. This fine 3rd shirt continued Newcastle United’s tradition of blue kits, as the sleeves, shorts and socks came in a bright sky blue, while the main body of the shirt was black.
The notable players that season were:
Giuseppe Rossi, Andy Carroll, Shola Ameobi, Antoine Sibierski, Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins, Albert Luque, Andy O’Brien, Nicky Butt, Scott Parker, James Milner, Charles N’Zogbia, Damien Duff, Kieron Dyer, Emre, Celestine Babayaro, Steven Taylor, Peter Ramage, Titus Bramble, Craig Moore, Nolberto Solano, Stephen Carr, Shay Given, Steve Harper
