1999-00 Barcelona Home Shirt (2004 Remake) Size Small
Era: 1999-00 (Used for the 1999 Supercopa de Espana, and the 1999-00 La Liga season)
Although a 2004 remake; this shirt is still in wonderful condition with the material showing very little wear, and the Nike swoosh and club crest standing in brilliant stead.
Pit to Pit Measurement: 20 inches
Shirt Length: 29 inches
Made during the 2004-05 portion of Nike’s Total 90 campaign; this shirt is still baggier than today’s size small, and thus the dimensions suggest that this shirt could also fit a size medium.
The reigning La Liga champions were set to usher in the new millennium with a statement making half and half cut shirt! The season was also a landmark for the club as it was their centenary shirt, as the 1899-1999 commemoration on the shirt celebrates. The strip is an even blue and red split, with navy sleeves and a matching navy collar, in what was just Nike’s second offering as the club’s kit supplier. Regrettably, the season would be the definition of second best; as they lost out in the Supercopa de Espana to Valencia; they would finish 2nd in La Liga, and crash out of the semi-final of both the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey. This was also last season at the club for Luis Figo as he went to complete a controversial move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2000, while manager: Louis Van Gaal also departed in the close season.
The notable players that season were:
Patrick Kluivert, Jari Litmanen, Dani Garcia, Rivaldo, Luis Figo, Simao, Luis Enrique, Boudewijn Zenden, Emmanuel Amunike, Phillip Cocu, Xavi, Ronald de Boer, Josep Guardiola, Frank de Boer, Winston Bogarde, Sergi, Abelardo, Michael Reiziger, Carles Puyol, Ruud Hesp
