This article comes to you in very good condition, however, there are some pulls to the material, as well as some of the letters peeling off from the corners and the Real Madrid club crest coming away from the number 7. Please also be mindful that the La Liga emblem on the sleeve is vinyl.

DIMENSIONS:

Made by Adidas in their ‘ClimaLite’ range of shirts which they introduced in 2019; this shirt while providing good dimensions for a size large, could also fit a size extra-large in my opinion.

DESCRIPTION:

Adidas used history as their motivation ahead of their 2019-20 edition of Real Madrid’s home shirt, and history would repeat itself as the white and gold ensemble would again yield a La Liga winning season as it did in 2011-12! This edition however would feature a hoop neck collar and all of the accents would be gold, making this the quintessential white and gold uniform! This home shirt would be memorable as Real Madrid remained unbeaten against their most fierce rivals – FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid; the latter also being vanquished in the final of the Supercopa de Espana, and went on their unbelievable championship winning tilt of 10 matches won in a row post-Lockdown to dethrone Barcelona of the title!

THE SEASON:

After Zinedine Zidane returned to the Real Madrid in March 2019, he would be given the gift of his long-term target – Eden Hazard, with the Belgian being signed from Chelsea for €115 million! The coffers didn’t close there, as an additional €200 million outlay was spread on the purchases of: Eder Militao, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo, meanwhile, James Rodriguez also returned from Bayern Munich after his 2 year loan spell in Germany.

Zidane’s new-look side would enjoy a fine start to the new season as they led the way after going unbeaten in their first 8 games of the season; and having claimed draws away against Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, already navigated two of the harder tests of the season with minimal collateral damage! Not even a defeat to Real Mallorca could stifle their trajectory as the team embarked on a 15 match unbeaten streak between 30/10/19 to 16/02/20!

Just as the season appeared to be unravelling after a run of just 1 win in 4; the win being against Barcelona no less, the season would be put on pause due to the global outbreak of the Coronavirus. They would return to action sitting in 2nd place and 2 points adrift of Barcelona. Coined by Zidane as ’11 Final’s to play’; his team took the challenge in their stride as they reeled off 10 straight victories to claim a 34th Spanish league title! Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema would be particularly inspirational in this run as they contributed 6 and 7 goals respectively!

Elsewhere, the newly reformatted Supercopa de Espana that took place in January 2020 from Saudi Arabia saw Real Madrid vanquish Valencia 3-1, before overcoming Atletico Madrid on penalties in a tense 0-0 finale! Their Champions League campaign would be the only be the season’s major blemish however, as they were condemned to a Last 16 exit at the hands of Manchester City.

The notable players that season were:

Vinicius Junior, Mariano Diaz, Karim Benzema, Luka Jovic, Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, Eden Hazard, Lucas Vasquez, Gareth Bale, Isco, James Rodriguez, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde, Brahim Diaz, Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Dani Carvajal, Marcelo, Alvaro Odriozola, Eder Militao, Nacho, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Ferland Mendy, Thibaut Courtois, Alphonse Areola, Kiko Casilla
