DESCRIPTION:

To celebrate the France Football Association’s 100th anniversary; Nike created this special centenary shirt that would be used just for one game; their Euro 2020 qualifier against Iceland on 25/03/19. While the current shirt was navy with an adapted v-neck and button collar; this shirt was a much lighter blue, using a classic collar and gold accents. Even the Nike swoosh itself was coloured blue, and the FFF crest adapted to gold, so as to not take anything away from the brilliance of this shirt!

THE SEASON:

In what should really be titled ‘the game’, this shirt would be announced by France head-coach and captain: Didier Deschamps and Hugo Lloris during a press conference ahead of their clash with Iceland n match-day 2 of the 2020 European Championship qualifiers. In front of over 64,000 fans at the Stade de France; the reigning world champions would walk out in their new one-off strip and got the party underway with a Samuel Umtiti goal after just 12 minutes! A late second half blitz from: Olivier Giroud, Kylian Mbappe, and Antoine Griezmann saw ‘Les-Bleus’ make it 2 wins out of 2 with this 4-0 triumph!
