Sadly, the precarious nature of printed gold decal has revealed itself, with the Adidas logo and Samsung sponsor badly fading, so much so, that the once gold print has now become white, whilst the material also shows significant wear. Naturally, these defects have been reflected in the price.

The reality was that Roberto di Matteo led fairy-tale end to the 2012-13 season would prompt more questions than answers, especially with the departures of stalwarts such as: Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Michael Essien and Jose Bosingwa. While the highly touted Eden Hazard was secured from Lille, Roberto di Matteo’s first full season in charge began with defeats in both the FA Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup affairs, while an embarrassing group stage exit from the Champions League saw him disposed before the end of the year, and while his replacement Rafa Benitez was an unpopular appointment; the Spaniard did guide ‘the Blues’ to a 3^rd place league finish, League Cup and FA Cup semi-finals, a runners up place in the FIFA Club World Cup, and ultimately the triumph of the UEFA Europa League, in what was quite the dizzying season for the club. It was apt that after Chelsea won their long sought after Champions League, that Adidas would supplement the Chelsea blue with gold accents. The result was nothing short of spectacular! While the gold sponsor, crest, and Adidas chest logo have been heat applied, it only adds to the legend that was Chelsea’s 2012-13 shirt.
