DESCRIPTION:
The Adidas and Japan romance continued ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, with navy and royal blue being reintroduced after the sky-blue and yellow effort from the previous cycle. This jersey also utilised accents of red in what was a brilliant touch, as was the pattern that was woven into the main body of the shrit. This shirt also saw the JFA emblem change from amber and red, to white and red. A fine shirt that coincided with a beautiful period for ‘the Blue Samurai’; first of all, they would match their best ever finish at a World Cup finals, as they were cruelly beaten on penalties by Paraguay in the round of 16. This would set the stage for legendary employment of Alberto Zaccheroni in the managerial hot seat, and the Asian nation would end 2010 with a stunning 1-0 win over Argentina! 2011 would then set the stage for the fantastic Asian Cup triumph in Qatar!
