DESCRIPTION:
Paying homage to the Barcelona kits that characterised the Johann Cruyff era at the start of the 90’s, Nike designed the reigning Spanish and European champions away shirt in orange; truly fitting as it was the last time Barcelona had an orange away shirt was the season they beat Sampdoria to win their first European Cup back in 1992! Complementing the orange would be blue and red trims on the sleeves and collar, creating a truly special piece. This was one of the releases used by the club before the Levski Sofia clash on 12/09/06, where the shirt still remained sponsor-less, of course after that game, Unicef adorned the ‘Blaugrana’ shirt; thus, signalling the first time that the club would have a sponsor visible on their shirt.
The notable players that season were:
Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Santiago Ezquerro, Samuel Eto’o, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Ludovic Giuly, Javier Saviola, Deco, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Oleguer, Thiago Motta, Sylvinho, Gianluca Zambrotta, Rafael Marquez, Edmilson, Carles Puyol, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Lilian Thuram, Belletti, Victor Valdes
