CONDITION: VERY GOOD

This classic shirt remains in very good condition, albeit with a few bobbles and signs of wear; a given however, owing to the age of the article. The Brazil crest and Nike swoosh, and elastic in the sleeves remain in great shape however.

DIMENSIONS:

Made in the Nike ‘Dri-Fit’ mould of the late 90’s, although the dimensions are somewhat peculiar; this is a very baggy shirt, especially as far as the sleeves are concerned.

DESCRIPTION:

One of the most iconic shirts of the modern era! It is arguable that the popularity of the Brazil national team has never been more popular than it was ahead of the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. Boasting arguably the most popular and talented footballer in the world at the time: Ronaldo, their tournament journey in France was one of the most memorable; from the legendary curtain raiser against Scotland, to a thrilling journey to the final where they would fall short in their defence of the title against the hosts France. Just 12 months on from that disappointment however, the ‘Selecao’ would win the 1999 edition of the Copa America, before finishing as runners up at the Confederations Cup a few weeks later! This classic strip was a very simple combination of canary yellow and green accents; however the simple use of a green stripe down the arms, the green hoop collar and sleeves made for one of the greatest ever Brazil home shirts made by Nike!

The notable players that season(s) were:

Bebeto, Edmundo, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Amoroso, Ze Roberto, Leonardo, Alex, Denilson, Emerson, Cesar Sampaio, Dunga, Serginho, Evanilson, Odvan, Aldair, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Antonio Carlos Zago, Dida, Taffarel
