Paying homage to the 40^th anniversary of the Munich tragedy; Nike utilised a white and blue away combination, instead of the classic white and black, and the combination was a sure-fire artistic success, even if the shirt was synonymous with the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final defeat to Barcelona. United would of course continue their fine run of domestic dominance in the 2008-09 season, as they collected a 3^rd straight Premier League title, as well as winning the Community Shield and League Cup.
