2002-04 Manchester United Home Shirt Size Medium
THE VITALS:
Team: Manchester United
Brand: Nike
Era: 2002-04 (Used for the 2002-03 & 2003-04 Barclaycard Premiership seasons, the 2003 FA Community Shield match, and the 2004 FA Cup Final)
Name/Number: -
CONDITION: VERY GOOD
For a shirt that is closing in on 20 years since its debut; this article is in very, very good condition! There are very bobbles or signs of wear in general; however, the felt sponsor has started to discolour and looks it may have been glued back on in parts.
DIMENSIONS:
Size: Medium
Pit to Pit Measurement: 21.5 inches
Shirt Length: 30 inches
Made in the mould of the Nike shirts introduced ahead of the 2002-03 season; this shirt is quite baggy, and thus, I would also suggest that this shirt would be a better fit a size large.
DESCRIPTION:
After finishing in Premier League record lowest finish of 3rd place; Sir Alex Ferguson put the brakes on his retirement and made Rio Ferdinand the world’s most expensive defender when he was signed for £30 million! The moved worked to perfection as ‘the Red Devils’ reclaimed the Premier League title in 2003 and reached the Carling Cup final. While David Beckham departed in the summer of 2003, his successor to the number 7 jersey was signed in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo! While United would finish 3rd again in the league in 2004, they would win their first FA Cup since 1999! This shirt began Manchester United's 13 year association with Nike, and this was most certainly one of their best offerings during that business relationship. This was also the last United shirt to feature a felt sponsor, before transitioning to the printed decal.
