Made by Adidas in their ‘ClimaLite’ series of products which they released in 2017; this jacket provides an excellent, relaxed size small fit.

DESCRIPTION: 

Unlike the home strip which was entirely red with white accents as part of the retro throwback; this jacket is truer to the times of the last 2010’s when it was released as the jacket bears a modern cut with a high neck rise that also features the inclusion of navy accents. Please also bare in mind that the Adidas applications are vinyl instead of embroidered. This season would be famous Jupp Heynckes’s return as he replaced Carlo Ancelotti and he oversaw a turnaround in fortunes that led ‘Die Rotten’ to a sixth straight Bundesliga title, as well as the final of the DFB-Pokal and an agonising elimination in the semi-final of the Champions League against Real Madrid! This would also be Arturo Vidal’s final season as a Bayern player as he ended a wonderful spell with the club and James Rodriguez would also be welcomed on a two year loan deal from Real Madrid!

THE SEASON:

Carlo Ancelotti would deliver Bayern their 5^th straight Bundesliga title in his debut season at the helm in Bavaria; successfully warding off the surprise challenge of RB Leipzig. A controversial UEFA Champions League exit against Real Madrid however would be their first exit before the semi-final since 2011, so all eyes would be on the European campaign for the forthcoming season.

It would be an emotional close season with legends: Xabi Alonso and Philipp Lahm both retiring, while the duo of Medhi Benatia and Douglas Costa both moved to Juventus. Niklas Sule, James Rodriguez, Sebastian Rudy and Corentin Tolisso all joined the club, while Kingsley Coman’s loan deal was made permanent. The season would kick off on August 5^th with Bayern retaining the DFB-Pokal, however, they would need a penalty shoot-out to edge past old rivals Dortmund.

A BuLi match-day 3 defeat to Hoffenheim would begin rumblings that Carlo Ancelotti’s time with the club may be under scrutiny, and when his team were beaten 3-0 by Paris Saint Germain on match-day of the Champions League group stages on 27/09/17; he was relieved of his duties just 24 hours later. His interim successor: Wily Sagnol would not convince in his audition which was the 2-2 draw with Hertha on October 1st, and the surprise man to be given the baton was the godfather himself: Jupp Heynckes.

The 4^th Heynckes spell at the club was just what the doctor ordered, winning his fist 5 league games in charge, as well as guiding Bayern to the Last 16 of the Champions League. The defeat away to Monchengladbach was nothing more than a blip as he guided his troops to a run of 10 straight league victories! Even after their next league defeat which came against Leipzig on 18/03/18; they would lead the way in Germany by 17 points.

The spring months would see Bayern have the title wrapped up on April 7^th, 4 days later reach the Champions League semi-final and then on the 17^th, reach the final of the DFB-Pokal! Their opponents in the UCL semi’s would be none other than Real Madrid, and a 2-1 defeat in the 1^st Leg would leave the 2013 European champions with a mountain to climb if they were to reach a first finale since that night in Wembley, and despite their best efforts in the 2^nd Leg; they could only battle to a 2-2 draw in the Spanish capital, falling 4-3 on aggregate. The Jupp Heynckes farewell tour would end with a defeat on the final day of the BuLi season to Stuttgart, before suffering a shock 3-1 DFB-Pokal Final defeat to Frankfurt; the club ironically managed the man who was set to replace Heynckes: Niko Kovac!
