DESCRIPTION:

In the 3rd instalment of Kappa’s relationship with Feyenoord, the club came into the new season having won the UEFA Cup against Dortmund in front of their own fans at the De Kuip, and their reward would be a European curtain raiser against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup! They would have to start the new campaign without star striker Jon-Dahl Tomasson, however the squad would remain strong enough to inspire optimism of an Eredivisie triumph! While Bert van Marwijk’s side would lose against Real Madrid, they would enjoy a very strong league campaign that saw them go unbeaten for the entire second half of the season; a run which included a phenomenal 13 match winning streak! It would prove heart-breaking ultimately however as they again finished 3rd and ended as runners-up in the KNVB Cup. Ditching the collar which adorned the previous two home shirts, Kappa went with a hoop collar, while repositioning the club crest to the left of the shirt, while also instituting thin piping under the sleeves. The sponsor also remains embedded into the fabric of the shirt, in what was the next evolution of the classic half and half cut styling synonymous with Feyenoord.

The notable players that season were:

Sebastian Pardo, Robin van Persie, Johan Elmander, Anthony Lurling, Pierre van Hooijdonk, Bonaventure Kalou, Jorge Acuna, Thomas Buffel, Shinji Ono, Paul Bosvelt, Glenn Loovens, Chong Guk Song, Brett Emerton, Patrick Paauwe, Kees van Haaren, Tomasz Rzasa, Christian Gyan, Patrick Lodewijks, Edwin Zoetebier
