DESCRIPTION:
Transitioning from Samsung Mobile to just Samsung as a sponsor; Chelsea debuted this beautiful shirt in their ill-fated 2008 UEFA Champions League final clash with Manchester Unite1d. For the first time since the 1997-1999 season, Chelsea's home shirt featured yellow accents, and it completed the shinier royal blue and white to a tee. Also utilising a collar for the first time since the 2001-03 shirt, this shirt is filled with intricate details on the collar and on the inside of the hem. This shirt was worn in the magnificent wins over Arsenal, Juventus and Roma, as well as the legendary Champions League quarter final with Liverpool, and the controversial semi-final with Barcelona.
The notable players that season were:
Didier Drogba, Andriy Shevchenko, Nicolas Anelka, Ricardo Quaresma, Florent Malouda, Deco, Frank Lampard, Michael Essien, Michael Ballack, Joe Cole, Juliano Belletti, John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole, Petr Cech
