DESCRIPTION:

Nike in what was their now their 7th season in tandem with Brighton and Hove Albion would restore yellow as the club’s secondary colours; a first since their debut season in the Premier League back in 2017-18! Unlike the dusky yellow tones which were used for that shirt, this shirt is more akin to the away shirt made by Errea in 2013-14; relying on a canary yellow with an embossed diagonal striped motif in the back and the bringing back of blue for the use of the accents. This shirt would be worn on 20/04/2021 when ‘The Seagulls’ held Chelsea to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge! This would also be last season at the club for the likes of: Davy Propper, Ben White, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, José Izquierdo, Bernardo and Mathew Ryan as the club retained their Premier League status for a 5th season upon finishing 16th in the league!

THE SEASON:

After finishing 15th in 2019-20 to conclude the Coronavirus affected season; their would be plenty of transfer activity for Graham Potter and his side as: Adam Lallana, Joel Veltman and Danny Welbeck all came in as the high profile acquisitions to the AMEX Stadium!

Although the club would only win 2 games in the 2020 portion of the season; the season would reflect the prototypical Brighton season in the Premier League as they would go on to finish 16th in the league to secure their top-flight status for another season. Their finest point of the season would be their 6 game unbeaten streak between the 16th January to the 13th February when they defeated Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in succession, and they would also enjoy a fantastic 3-2 win over Manchester City in the penultimate game of the season in what was the only game of the season where fans were allowed at the Falmer Stadium!

The notable players that season were:

Aaron Connolly, Neal Maupay, Danny Welbeck, Florin And one, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Adam Lallana, Alexis Mac Allister, Moisés Caicedo, Davy Pröpper, Pascal Groß, Yves Bissouma, Tariq Lamptey, Ben White, Adam Webster, Lewis Dunk, Michał Karbownik, Joël Veltman, Robert Sánchez, Jason Steele
