This shirt comes in very good condition with the crest and the material standing in excellent condition, however the name and numbering print on the back is starting to peel.

Size: 13-14 Years

Pit to Pit Measurement: 17.5 inches

Shirt Length: 23.5 inches

This shirt is made in Adidas’ ‘ClimaCool’ range they introduced ahead of the 2018-19 season, and while the width is more than substantial, please be mindful of the very short shirt length and as a recommendation, I would say this isn’t suitable for a size small or XS.

DESCRIPTION:

Adidas’ latest away strip for Argentina would continue the gradual dark ascent and a result, the away shirt was now black! Taking inspiration from the classic 1992-93 away shirt; the block of 3 bars recreating the flag of Argentina was now installed on the side panels. The away shirt debuted in Argentina’s 2-0 win over Italy on 23/03/18 and was worn in the last game of this cycle of shirts – the November 21st victory over Mexico.

THE SEASON(S):

Jorge Sampaoli continued his belated preparations for Argentina’s quest for World Cup glory in 2018 with their pair of friendlies to end 2017 against World Cup hosts Russia and World Cup opponents Nigeria in November. Sergio Aguero scored an 86th minute winner against Russia in Moscow, before losing his first game in charge of the ‘Albiceleste’, when Nigeria came from 2-0 down to beat Argentina 4-2.

The national side reunited in 2018 for a pair of intriguing fixtures against Italy and Spain, they would do so however, without Lionel Messi. They saw off Italy 2-0 on March 23rd at the Etihad Stadium before going to Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano to meet Spain on March 27th. Argentina would be embarrassed by the hosts 6-1 to propose further questions of Argentina’s chances of winning the World Cup in June.

Their final game before taking their place in Russia would be a home win over Haiti 4-0, with Lionel Messi back in the fold, he would score a hat-trick! They would take their place in Group D alongside: Croatia, Nigeria and Iceland in what was potentially very tricky group. In spite of their opposition, Argentina were still expected to reach the Last 16.

They would begin against Iceland on June 16th with all eyes on Lionel Messi, it was Aguero who continued his fine form with the national side in 2018 by giving his country the lead after 19 minutes. Argentina would be pegged back moments later, however, they would have the chance to take the lead in the 2nd half when Argentina won a 64th minute penalty. Lionel Messi would regrettably miss his spot-kick as the game ended 1-1.

Their next meeting would be against Croatia on June 21st in Nizhny. They would fall 3-0 to Croatia in what was an exceptional second half showing from the European nation, meaning that the Argenti would have to win their clash with Nigeria, and hope that Croatia would do them a favour and avoid the defeat against Iceland.

Lionel Messi would score his first goal of the competition to give Argentina a 14th minute, however, a Victor Moses penalty would level proceedings in the 2nd half. Argentina were staring down the barrel of a first Group Stage exit since 2002, until Marcos Rojo scored a worldly winner to send Argentina to the Last 16!

Their opponents would be the favourites to win the title: France in a mouth watering clash in Kazan on June 30th. Antoine Griezmann gave France the lead from the spot after 13 minutes, before Angel Di Maria uncorked an incredible equaliser just before the break. Gabriel Mercado would give Argentina the lead just after half-time before Benjamin Pavard scored the goal of the tournament to equalise just before the hour mark. Kylian Mbappe would then take charge with a 4 minute brace to put France 4-2 ahead. Argentina would huff and puff, and would score  93rd minute consolation, but despite their best efforts, they would bow out of the competition after a 4-3 defeat to eventual winners of the World Cup.

The fall-out of the exit would see Jorge Sampaoli leave his post as Argentina head-coach and in his place would step former international: Lionel Scaloni, meanwhile, Lionel Messi took himself out of the international fold indefinitely. His debut would be a 3-0 win over Guatemala in Los Angeles on September 8th, before overseeing a goalless draw with Colombia 4 days later.

The October friendlies would be on neutral soil, beginning with a 4-0 win over Iraq in Saudi Arabia, before losing 1-0 to Brazil on October 16th. They would see out 2018 with a pair of fixtures against Mexico in the space of 4 days. They would win the first clash 2-0 in Cordoba and would then win the second meeting by the same score-line on November 21st in Mendoza to see out a roller-coaster 2018.
