Atletico Madrid

  • £29.99

THE VITALS:

Team: Atletico Madrid

Brand: Nike

Era: 2014-15 (Used for the 2014 Supercopa de Espana, and the 2014-15 La Liga season)

Name/Number: F. Torres #19

CONDITION: VERY GOOD

This article remains in very good condition; with the material bearing few signs of wear or bobbling, and a couple of the letters of the name on the back beginning to peel also. The crest, Nike swoosh and sponsor decal however are in excellent shape. The elastic threaded sleeves and material of the crest leads me to believe that this may not be an authentic replica, and this has been reflected in the price.

DIMENSIONS:

Size: Medium

Pit to Pit Measurement: 19 inches

Shirt Length: 29 inches

Made in the 2014-15 season mould of the Nike ‘Dri-Fit’ range; this shirt provides excellent dimensions for a size medium fitting football shirt. For those of you that usually wear size small and prefer a baggier fit; this shirt would also be ideal.

DESCRIPTION:

After a glorious season that saw Atletico Madrid win La Liga and reach the final of the UEFA Champions League; there would be change aplenty at the Vicente Calderon, with: Diego Costa, Felipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois all joining Chelsea, and then Adrian, David Villa, and Diego also departing; Antoine Griezmann, Mario Mandzukic, Raul Jimenez, Jan Oblak and Alessio Cerci were all drafted ahead of the new season. The club made it a 4th straight season of winning silverware as they edged Real Madrid 2-1 in the Supercopa de Espana, however the challenge of defending the title would provide too much for the club as they finished 3rd, and crashed out of the Champions League at the quarter final stage, against Real Madrid no less. While the collar was retained; this shirt would see blue used more prominently after the previous season used the colour very sparingly. There would also be more of an equal split of the red and white colours too, after the last season’s mostly red effort. This season would also be notable for the return of Atleti’s favourite son: Fernando Torres, as he arrived in January from AC Milan, some 7 and a half years after leaving the club!

The notable players that season were:

Antoine Griezmann, Mario Mandzukic, Fernando Torres, Raul Jimenez, Arda Turan, Alessio Cerci, Cristian Rodriguez, Saul, Mario Suarez, Koke, Tiago, Raul Garcia, Cani, Lucas Hernandez, Jose Gimenez, Miranda, Juanfran, Jesus Gamez, Cristian Ansaldi, Guilherme Siqueira, Diego Godin, Miguel Angel Moya, Jan Oblak
