It was double-header of a new dawn for Liverpool, as Warrior replaced Adidas as the club’s kit supplier in one of the most lucrative kit supplying deals in the history of the sport, while Brendan Rodgers was sourced from Swansea to guide a young Liverpool team into the new season. The club would also change their crest on the shirt, removing the shield; the new crest would be that of the bird of Liverpool, with L.F.C. embroidered beneath. While the home shirt was a very simple all red affair, the away strip was a mix of black and grey combined in a hitherto unseen pattern; something that would become a staple of the LiverpoolXWarrior range of alternate strips. This black ensemble would be worn most memorably in the 2-2 draw away against Arsenal on January 30th 2013.
