This shirt remains in excellent condition in spite of its years, with all the applications: name and numbering, Adidas embroidery and crest all standing in fantastic shape. Moreover, the material is also steadfast.

DIMENSIONS:

Size: Medium

Pit to Pit Measurement: 19.5 inches

Shirt Length: 27.5 inches

In a rarity for an Adidas made in this template, this shirt actually fits more like a small, which leads to me to believe that this may be a mis-print as far as sizing is concerned.

DESCRIPTION:

Adidas delivered Spain with an interesting strip ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, with yellow pin-stripes being added to the main red backdrop, while additional yellow accents were implemented to house the main body of the stripes. Another nuance of this shirt is that the red across the chest is perforated. Unlike previous strips, this kit uses a lighter shade of blue for both the shorts and socks, creating one of the more unique and interesting Spain ensembles of the noughties!

THE SEASON(S):

After finishing 2nd in qualifying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup; Spain would need to navigate a 2-legged qualifier against Slovakia at the close of 2005 to seal their place at the tournament finals in Germany. A 5-1 destruction of Slovakia in the 1st Leg in Madrid rendered the 2nd Leg in Bratislava inconsequential. Going into 2006, ‘La Roja’, in their last 58 games, had lost just 4 times, the last of which coming at Euro 2004 against Portugal, some 18 games ago. To prepare for the World Cup; Spain defeated the Ivory Coast, Egypt and Croatia. An abundance of attacking talents; more mature from the disappointment of Euro 2004, sent waves as they beat the Ukraine 4-0 in their competition opener, before seeing off both Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, to set up a Last 16 showdown with France. A very late collapse against France saw them eliminated in what was a disappointing 2006. 2007 began with a win over England; and that win set the tone for a brilliant year where they won 8 out of their 10 games; culminating with the goalless draw with Finland, the last time this shirt was worn.
