Made in the Adidas ‘ClimaCool’ template introduced ahead of the 2010-11 season; although this shirt is a size 15-16 years, the measurements are better suited to a conventional size small.

DESCRIPTION:

While the 2009-10 shirt featured very little red, Adidas went about introducing red side panels to this season’s effort, while a polo collar was also reintroduced after the previous tenures v-neck. Further nuance can be found in the form of the trim which bleeds from the collar before ghosting into the white material that the shirt is mostly comprised of.

THE SEASON:

After a rollercoaster of a season that a managerial change, the arrival of the legendary Ruud van Nistelrooy, a UEFA Europa League semi-final finish and 7^th place Bundesliga outing; the powers that be at the HSH Nordbank Arena were hoping stability in the first full season of the new decade. With star defender Jerome Boateng moving on in the summer, Heiko Westermann was brought in from Schalke. After a bright start of 2 wins and 2 draws in their opening 4 league outings; inconsistency would become the flavour of the day and by the middle of March, Armin Veh would be replaced by Michael Oenning in the hotseat. In the end, he would guide Hamburg to a credible 8^th place finish.
