After a promising steady of the ship at the end of the 2011-12 season; Andrea Stramaccioni was the baton to run with as Inter Milan’s head coach ahead of the 2012-13 season, however he’d be hamstrung following the departure of stalwarts: Ivan Cordoba, Sulley Muntari, Lucio, Giampaolo Pazzini, Julio Cesar and Maicon! New signings in the form of: Fredy Guarin, Rodrigo Palacio, Samir Handanovic, Walter Gargano, Antonio Cassano and Alvaro Pereira were brought in as replacements, and the club would win 11 of their opening 16 Serie A games, a spell which famously included the first ever away victory at the Juventus Stadium! Going with a bolder black motif in this season’s jersey, Nike strayed from the thin blue and black stripes of last year, with 3 thick blue stripes across what is essentially a black canvas. If simplicity is what you prefer, then this shirt is the one for you!
The notable players that season were:
Rodrigo Palacio, Antonio Cassano, Diego Milito, Wesley Sneijder, Phillipe Coutinho, Ricky Alvarez, Mateo Kovacic, Fredy Guarin, Esteban Cambiasso, Dejan Stankovic, Walter Gargano, Javier Zanetti, Christian Chivu, Juan Jesus, Walter Samuel, Andrea Ranocchia, Yuto Nagatomo, Alvaro Pereira, Samir Handanovic
